Hristo Stoichkov has quit as manager of CSKA Sofia after one month with the Bulgarian club.
The 48-year-old former striker took charge of the team on June 12.
However, problems behind the scenes have forced the fan favourite to step down from his role.
"I'm fed up, I'm leaving," he told reporters. "I agreed to start coaching without a contract and I had a great desire to help.
"I had the support of the players and my staff. We endured until it became clear there's no chance of promises being fulfilled."
Stoichkov enjoyed two spells as a player with CSKA before retiring in 2003.
