The South Korean Football Association have decided to sack Cho Kwang-rae as coach of the national team, according to the country's state television network.
Kwang-rae, who was appointed in 2010, led the team to third place at the Asian Cup earlier this year.
However, the Taegeuk Warriors have struggled in their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign so far, highlighted by their 2-1 defeat to Lebanon last month.
The 57-year-old won 80 caps for South Korea during his playing career.
