Marcelino Garcia named as new Sevilla manager

La Liga's Sevilla has confirmed Marcelino Garcia as its new manager.

The former Racing Santander boss has been appointed on a one-season deal, with the possibility of a two-year extension "depending on results".

"I believe we have a coach for the long term," said president Jose Maria del Nido today. "It's the first time I have drawn up a contract like Marcelino's."

Former Sevilla manager Gregorio Manzano was dropped by del Nido after the club finished fifth place for the season.
