Steve Kean has said he is likely to "take a risk" and play Chris Samba in the final game of the season.
The Blackburn captain's fitness is currently in doubt after he sustained a groin and hamstring injury during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Man Utd.
Now Kean is planning to use Samba in the crucial game against Wolves at Molineux on Sunday. "Samba felt his groin first, but stayed on and then his hamstring tightened," he told Sky Sports today. "But if there is a chance that the big fella can play he'll be dying to get out there.
"You take risks in games like this. If we can take a risk on him then we will."
Meanwhile, the Daily Star claims that, regardless of this weekend's result, Kean could be fired and replaced by former England boss Steve McClaren.
Kean was called to a meeting with Rovers' Indian owners after being charged with drink-driving on Saturday night.
