FIFA have given two goal-line technology systems the go-ahead to debut at the Club World Cup in Japan in December.
The issue of video technology has been at the forefront in recent seasons but the introduction of systems GoalRef and Hawk-Eye will eventually come to pass in two months' time.
The world governing body have signed licence agreements for the two separate systems to be used worldwide, with previous reports stating that the video assistance could be implemented into the Premier League next season.
FIFA are planning to introduce GoalRef in one stadium used during the Club World Cup and Hawk-Eye in the other.
