Former West Germany striker Helmut Haller has died at the age of 73, his former club Augsburg have announced.
Haller opened the scoring in the 1966 World Cup final as his country lost 4-2 to hosts England at Wembley Stadium. He went on to find the net 13 times in 33 appearances at international level.
The forward was also known for taking the ball after the 1966 World Cup final before returning it to the English Football Association 30 years later.
Haller enjoyed a successful career abroad, winning the Serie A title twice with Juventus and once with Bologna.
