The Football League have successfully voted to use seven substitutes in all matches as of next season.
The governing body have decided to revert to the original ruling that seven players are allowed on the bench as opposed to only five members that were permitted last season.
Calls for the rule to change emerged during the season, with a number of managers criticising the decision to limit the number of players on the bench.
The substitutes reduction was passed last year in July following a proposal from Burnley.
