Sepp Blatter confirms he won't stand for FIFA presidency in February election

Blatter: 'I won't stand for FIFA presidency'

Sepp Blatter has confirmed that he will not stand for the FIFA presidency in the February election.

An extraordinary elective FIFA congress has been scheduled for February 26 after Blatter announced in June that he intends to step down.

Blatter's decision came after the US and Swiss authorities arrested 14 people in relation to allegations of corruption within football's world governing body.

Today, the 79-year-old addressed the media and confirmed that he will not run for presidency and plans to work in radio journalism when he quits.

Blatter also refused to declare how much he earns as FIFA president, despite announcing that salary transparency is part of a reform process.
