San Lorenzo president Matias Lammens has expressed the club's intention to tie up a deal for Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini.
The 31-year-old's future has been in doubt over the course of the season after he expressed his desire to move back to his native Argentina.
"I have the intention of having a meeting with Fabricio and talking about the conditions of his arrival to San Lorenzo," Lammens told La Cicloneta.
"We understand that Newcastle don't have too much interest in the summer other than keeping Coloccini in their squad. They have managed to escape from the relegation zone, so they will now think about what is best for the player; that need to go back home."
Reports have claimed that Coloccini was close to joining the club in the January transfer window, but the South American outfit failed to meet Newcastle's asking price.
