Newcastle United reportedly target Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady heading into the January transfer window, as the new ownership look to boost the squad.

Newcastle United have reportedly added Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-back Conor Coady to their list of possible targets heading into the January transfer window.

The Magpies have been linked with a long list of potential new stars since the lucrative takeover of the club by the Saudi Public Investment Fund earlier in October, as the new ownership look to quickly bolster the squad.

According to The Sun, the St. James' Park outfit have now added the Wolves captain to their wanted list for the upcoming transfer window, with several advisors to director Amanda Staveley being big fans of the centre-back.

With the Magpies currently stuck in the Premier League relegation zone, the new owners are said to be keen to bolster the squad in January to avoid a relegation battle at the end of the campaign, with the back line reportedly being identified as an area needing improvement.

Coady led Wolves to promotion to the top flight in the 2017-18 season, and he has now made 286 appearances for the Midlands outfit, featuring in every minute of Premier League action so far this campaign.
