Chelsea eye Danny Simpson deal?

Chelsea could make a move for Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson, according to reports.

The 25-year-old is said to be holding the club to ransom after the Magpies were only willing to offer him a £15,000-per-week pay rise.

Reports have suggested that Alan Pardew may put the defender up for sale and the Daily Mail understands that the situation has caught Chelsea's attention.

The centre-back has been at the Sports Direct Arena on a permanent basis since 2010.
