Demba Ba: "Rumours are rumours"

Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has responded to speculation that he could join Liverpool before the start of next season.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Tyneside after scoring 16 goals in 34 games last season, but the Senegal striker has quelled suggestions of a move.

"Holla back everybody. So much stuff about me lately. Rumours are rumours! Just forget about it. By the way I had the best holiday ever!!" he tweeted.

It is understood that Ba has a minimum release fee of £7m in his contract.
