Team News: Dwight Gayle starts for Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock selects Dwight Gayle in his first Premier League XI since returning to the Eagles, for their trip to Newcastle United.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has selected Dwight Gayle in his first Premier League XI on his return as Eagles boss.

Gayle scored a hat-trick in Tuesday's League Cup win over Walsall, with that performance earning the striker a place in the team for the trip to Newcastle United this afternoon.

Adrian Mariappa also comes into the Palace side, with usual full-back Joel Ward moving into midfield.

For the home team, Remy Cabella, Siem de Jong and Yoan Gouffran all start in attacking lineup at St James' Park.

Jack Colback and Moussa Sissoko, meanwhile, will hold the midfield for the Magpies.
