Half-Time Report: Goalless between Latvia, Netherlands in Euro 2016 qualifier

It is goalless at the break in the Euro 2016 qualifier between Latvia and Netherlands at Skonto Stadium.

Guus Hiddink's men pressed forward in the early stages of the game and Luciano Narsingh should have fired his side ahead when he latched on to Wesley Sneijder's through-ball, but he put his first-time shot wide of the post.

Netherlands came within inches of taking the lead when Memphis Depay teed up Sneijder on the edge of the box, but the midfielder's curling effort smashed off the post and bounced clear.

The Oranje threatened once more as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar did well to work the ball back to Robin van Persie on the edge of the penalty area, but the forward's strike was straight at Andrejs Vanins.

Jetro Willems nearly broke the deadlock for the visitors as he raided forward from left-back to drill a low strike at goal, but Vanins was equal to the shot to make the vital save and keep the scores level.
