Napoli thrash 10-man Pescara

Napoli have torn apart Pescara in Serie A with a 5-1 win, with Edinson Cavani and Gokhan Inler each scoring twice.

Two goals apiece for Gokhan Inler and Edinson Cavani have helped Napoli to a resounding 5-1 win over 10-man Pescara in Serie A.

Napoli came out flying and won a series of early corners, and in the ninth minute Inler fired home from one to give the hosts the lead.

Six minutes later Marek Hamsik finished well to double Napoli's advantage but in the 18th minute Birkir Bjarnason headed in from a Damiano Zanon cross to half the deficit.

Despite all their pressure, Napoli did not score again before the break.

However, in the 58th minute Antonio Bocchetti was given a straight red for a foul in the box and Cavani duly converted the penalty for 3-1. He had his second five minutes later, Hamsik turning provider to set up the Uruguayan.
