Nick De Santis: 'Didier Drogba perfect fit for Montreal Impact'

Montreal Impact sporting director Nick De Santis believes that Didier Drogba is the "perfect fit" for the club.

Montreal Impact sporting director Nick De Santis has claimed that Didier Drogba is the "perfect fit" for the club.

The MLS side confirmed the arrival of the former Chelsea striker on Monday after the Ivorian had been linked with a number of other sides, and De Santis believes that the striker is the ideal signing for reasons both on and off the pitch.

"When we started thinking about our city, he fits in perfectly," he told told reporters. "Multicultural, he speaks English, he speaks French... his African descent, he's played in England for the biggest club - so when you think of our city and how multicultural it is and how well he is known worldwide, it was the perfect fit.

"That's all I've heard, what he brings to a team in the dressing room, all the positives, his demands - he's a winner and he's going to want to win and I just think that's going to feed off everyone around the club."

Montreal currently occupy sixth spot in the Eastern Conference.
