Newcastle United poised to make Remy Cabella bid

Montpellier HSC have revealed that they are expecting Newcastle United to make a move for Remy Cabella sooner rather than later.

The Premier League outfit, along with Manchester United, have been linked with submitting a bid for the 23-year-old playmaker during the January transfer window.

"Manchester has not sent any proposal," Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin told Midi Libre.

"As for Newcastle, it seems to me they are about to make one, but I expect confirmation on that. But the idea is still that Remy is with Montpellier until June."

Cabella, whose contract at Montpellier expires in 2016, has made 18 appearances for the club so far this term.
