Norwich City hammer Millwall

Norwich City hammer Milwall 6-1 at Carrow Road in the Championship.

Norwich City hammered Millwall 6-1 at Carrow Road to move up to seventh in the Championship this afternoon.

Steven Whittaker gave the home side the lead on 13 minutes when he latched on to Nathan Redmond's pass before side-footing into the bottom corner.

Cameron Jerome then doubled the Canaries' advantage when he intercepted a pass from the goalkeeper before tapping into an empty net.

Bradley Johnson extended Norwich's lead shortly into the second period when he steered an effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Johnson then claimed his second of the afternoon just after the hour mark when he tapped in from close range after meeting a cross.

Gary Hooper made it 5-0 just two minutes after coming on as a substitute when he fired past David Forde after latching on to a cross-field pass from Wes Hoolahan.

Jermaine Easter grabbed a consolation after he tapped into an empty net after a free kick had struck the bar, but Hooper grabbed his second of the afternoon in stoppage time.
