Team News: Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley start for Everton

Lukaku, Barkley start for Everton

Everton have named a strong starting XI for their League Cup quarter-final away at Championship side Middlesbrough, with Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku both included in the team.

Joel Robles has replaced Tim Howard in goal, but Roberto Martinez has retained faith with the same back four that started the 3-3 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

Leon Osman replaces the injured James McCarthy in midfield and captains the side, while the other change sees Tom Cleverley come in for Arouna Kone.

There is a welcoming sight on the bench, as Leighton Baines returns to the matchday squad following a lengthy absence.

Meanwhile, Boro have made six changes in total from the team that won 2-1 against Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

Tomas Mejias starts in goal, while Fernando Amorebieta has replaced George Friend in defence and Albert Adomah makes way for Grant Leadbitter.

Aitor Karanka has rotated three of his front four players, giving starting berths to Christian Stuani, Carlos de Pena and Kike.

Middlesbrough: Mejias; Nsue, Ayala, Amorebieta, Gibson; Leadbitter, Clayton; Stuani, De Pena, Downing, Kike Subs: Agazzi, Friend, Stephens, Adomah, Forshaw, Nugent, Zuculini

Everton: Joel; Coleman, Funes Mori, Stones, Galloway; Barry, Osman, Cleverley; Barkley, Lukaku, Deulofeu Subs: Howard, Baines, Gibson, Kone, Mirallas, Lennon, Naismith
