West Bromwich Albion want Sam Johnstone to replace Ben Foster?

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly looking to replace Ben Foster in goal with the signing of Sam Johnstone from Manchester United.

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly looking to replace Ben Foster in goal with the signing of Sam Johnstone from Manchester United.

Johnstone, who spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, made 45 Championship appearances as Steve Bruce's side reached the playoff final.

However, the club's current financial crisis means that Johnstone, who is not keen on fighting for a place at United, is also unlikely to sign fresh terms at Villa Park.

The Daily Mail reports that West Brom will look to bring in the 25-year-old stopper following the sale of Foster to Watford, with talks between the Baggies and the Hornets beginning to progress.

United are said to value Johnstone at around £5m.
