West Bromwich Albion decide against Daniel James swoop?

West Bromwich Albion manager Sam Allardyce decides against pursuing a deal for out-of-favour Manchester United winger Daniel James, according to a report.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly decided not to pursue a deal for Manchester United winger Daniel James.

Having struggled to become a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the current campaign, James is being tipped to head for the Old Trafford exit door in the January transfer window.

A recent report claimed that West Brom have joined the race to sign the Wales international, who has started just five Premier League games for the Red Devils this term.

However, the Daily Mail claims that James is not one of Sam Allardyce's targets as the 66-year-old looks to turn the Baggies' fortunes around in the second half of the season.

The report claims that Allardyce is prioritising moves for a new defender, striker and central midfielders, but James will not be short of offers if he does look to leave United as Burnley, Leeds United and Brighton & Hove Albion have all expressed an interest.

West Brom sit six points adrift of safety after Saturday's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal, while James came off the bench for the final few minutes in Man United's 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Friday.
