Manchester United reportedly shelve plans to sign a new full-back during the January transfer window.

Manchester United have reportedly scrapped their plans to sign a new full-back at the beginning of 2020.

Despite bringing in Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace during the summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been keen to add another fresh face in defence.

However, according to The Mirror, the emergence of Brandon Williams has led to the Norwegian being happy with his options in that area of the pitch.

Another report says that the academy graduate is now ahead of Luke Shaw in the pecking order due to the England international's injury problems.

The 19-year-old has been provided with five starts and three substitute appearances in all competitions this season.

The call made by Solskjaer should allow him more freedom when it comes to signing a new midfielder and forward during the January window.
