Paris Saint-Germain make contact with the representatives of Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford, according to a report.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly started discussions with Marcus Rashford's representatives over a possible summer deal for the Manchester United attacker.

The French champions are planning to bring another forward to the club before the end of the transfer window, with Christophe Galtier revealing that the club are "working" to sign another attacker.

"We want another striker to come in. With a busy schedule, we want arrivals. The club is working, I am in direct contact with Luis Campos," Galtier told reporters ahead of Saturday's clash with Montpellier.

"Luis is in direct contact with our president. We must not make any mistakes. Will this player arrive? We don't know. It has to be a real plus."

According to L'Equipe, Rashford has been identified as the club's leading target, and PSG have already opened discussions with the England international's agents.

Journalist Julien Laurens has said that the Ligue 1 giants want an attacker capable of playing in a wide area and through the middle and view Rashford as the ideal acquisition.

Laurens claims that there has not yet been any talks with Man United over a deal, but the 24-year-old is open to a fresh challenge at this stage of his career, with PSG meeting his brother and agent, Dwayne Rashford, last week.

Rashford only has another 12 months left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, although the club have the option of a 12-month extension, putting them in a strong position to demand a high fee.

The Englishman was in strong form for the Red Devils during pre-season but found it tough on the opening weekend of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rashford struggled to make his mark for Man United last term, meanwhile, managing only five goals and two assists in 31 appearances, and there had been suggestions earlier this year that he was looking to depart this summer.

"We have got that feeling of excitement and that buzz around the training ground again and so it is definitely positive going into pre-season," Rashford told MUTV earlier this summer. "It is just about, one, getting the principles right of how Erik [Ten Hag] wants us to play and the details, and, two, enjoying it.

"I don't think I have had a proper pre-season since 2019 so for me it is definitely a positive thing. I feel like I probably needed that time to switch off a little bit and me having that time enabled me to refocus a lot earlier than I expected to be honest.

"It [the break] was just a few days over four weeks and I always split it in half, so I had two weeks when I was just relaxing and a little over two weeks when I was training so it's been a good period for me.

"Like I say, I feel ready and focused so when that first game does come it's good to know you have done almost six weeks of training beforehand. It will definitely be a positive."

Rashford, who has scored 93 goals and registered 57 assists in 303 appearances for Man United, has been training with the Red Devils this week ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.
