Report: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho targeting Marco Verratti

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly made Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti his primary summer transfer target.

The Italy international is deemed one of the top playmakers in Europe and has enjoyed six fruitful seasons in the French capital.

Although Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred is believed to be on the verge of a big-money move to Old Trafford, The Sun claims that Mourinho is eager to make another high-profile midfield acquisition.

The report goes on to claim that Verratti would cost around £75m and that the Red Devils have already made contract with the 25-year-old's representatives.

Man United will reportedly face competition from Juventus for Verratti's signature, while Barcelona are credited with a serious interest in the player.
