Manchester United in contract talks with Angel Gomes?

Manchester United are reportedly continuing their attempts to agree a new contract with Angel Gomes.

While the 19-year-old has long been regarded as a hot prospect at Old Trafford, the midfielder only made his first start in the senior ranks on Thursday night when United played Astana.

The lack of game time for the academy graduate has resulted in an unwillingness to pen fresh terms, and his existing deal is due to expire in the summer.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, United remain keen to reach a positive conclusion to negotiations with Gomes and his representatives.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has indicated that he will hand regular minutes to the club's younger players this season, especially in the cup competitions.
