Adnan Januzaj double spares Manchester United blushes

Adnan Januzaj scores twice in the second half to help Manchester United come from behind to defeat Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Manchester United have come from behind to defeat Sunderland 2-1 at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.

Craig Gardner's early strike saw the Red Devils trailing by a goal at half time but a superb double from Adnan Januzaj helped the Premier League champions to all three points on Wearside.

David Moyes's men fell behind in the fourth minute when Nemanja Vidic's poor clearance allowed Gardner to collect a loose ball and fire his team in front.

A last-ditch tackle from Phil Jones denied the former Birmingham City man from adding to the lead just moments later.

That provoked a response from the visitors, with Nani and Januzaj both coming close to equalising - although David de Gea had to make a smart stop from Emmanuele Giaccherini.

The Belgian teenager finally got United back on track with a composed finish in the 55th minute, before a well-timed volley put them in front just six minutes later.

Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie missed chances to put the game beyond doubt, but the points still left with the visitors.
