Ipswich lineup vs. Man United: Predicted XI for Premier League match

Will Phillips return? Predicted Ipswich XI vs. Man United

Ipswich Town midfielder Kalvin Phillips is eligible to return from suspension for the Tractor Boys' Premier League showdown with Manchester United at Portman Road on Sunday.

However, the Manchester City loanee is also nursing a knock, Kieran McKenna has revealed, so there are no guarantees that he will be able to take his place in the engine room.

Phillips is one of six doubts for the hosts alongside Nathan Broadhead (groin), Wes Burns (knock), Jacob Greaves (thigh), Jack Taylor (unspecified) and Omari Hutchinson (foot), while George Hirst (knee) and Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) are definitely out.

McKenna will surely see no reason to make major changes to the team that stunned Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 two weekends ago, though, meaning that Axel Tuanzebe is set to start at right-back against his old club.

The erstwhile Man United defender joins forces with Leif Davis, Arijanet Muric, Dara O'Shea and Cameron Burgess in defence, while Jens Cajuste and Sam Morsy should form the double pivot if Phillips is not cleared to play.

Hutchinson's issue may open the door for Conor Chaplin to feature, but the ex-Arsenal and Chelsea man is sure to reprise his role alongside Ben Johnson and Sammie Szmodics in the final third if he is able to.

Whichever combination of attacker starts in the three-man supporting cast will no doubt be feeding Liam Delap, who has bagged six of Ipswich's 12 goals in the current top-flight campaign.

Ipswich Town possible starting lineup: Muric; Tuanzebe, O'Shea, Burgess, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Johnson, Hutchinson, Szmodics; Delap
