Jose Mourinho says that he "does not know" how long Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba will spend on the sidelines with the injury sustained in midweek.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is still in the dark over Paul Pogba's injury layoff, only confirming that the midfielder will definitely sit out this weekend's meeting with Everton.

The France international pulled up with a muscular injury in the first half of the Red Devils' 3-0 win over Basel at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, leading to fears that he is facing more than a month on the sidelines.

Pogba appeared to ease these concerns when taking to Instagram on Thursday to insist that "all will be fine", but Mourinho is still awaiting the result of scans on the injury.

"I don't know. I don't know that I just it is a muscular injury," he told reporters. "Paul is obviously out for the weekend match. The weekend match is the only match that I am thinking about.

"I don't think further than that. For me, it is simple - he is not playing this weekend."

Mourinho reportedly holds Pogba responsible for the injury picked up in midweek as he refused to follow club advice when managing the existing problem.
