Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Palace

Manchester United begin their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a home encounter against Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

As a result of their run through to the Europa League semi-finals, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were provided with an extra week off ahead of the new season.

While that has allowed some players to recover from their respective injuries, the Norwegian still has selection issues as he prepares to face opposition who edged out Southampton last weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Eagles.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Out Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: Unknown

While Solskjaer is yet to reveal any comeback date for Tuanzebe, the academy graduate is said to be making good progress in his recovery. As it stands, the centre-back may feature at some point in October.

Paul Pogba

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Lack of fitness Possible return date: September 19 (vs. Palace)

As a result of testing positive for coronavirus, Pogba has been forced to miss a number of training sessions during pre-season. However, Solskjaer has suggested that the World Cup winner will be in contention to feature in the squad at the weekend.

Phil Jones

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Having failed to make the squad for the latter stages of the Europa League, Jones has been continuing his recovery from a knee injury behind the scenes. It is highly unlikely that the Englishman will be involved in the 18-man squad for the upcoming fixture.

Mason Greenwood

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Other Possible return date: September 19 (vs. Palace)

As a result of his misdemeanor while on international duty with England, Greenwood has been training away from the United first team as he awaits the results of a coronavirus test. Even if the teenager is given the all clear, he may not be used by Solskjaer for this contest.

United have no players suspended for this encounter.
