Report: Manchester City, Barcelona to battle for Brahim Abdelkader

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to battle Barcelona for the signature of highly-rated Malaga attacker Brahim Abdelkader.

The 14-year-old, who has been compared to Lionel Messi, is widely regarded as one of the best young attacking talents in world football.

Barcelona are believed to have offered £2.5m for his services, but according to the Daily Mail, City are also monitoring proceedings with a view to making a January offer.

Abdelkader has the same agent as Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
