Javi Martinez says that he is happy at Bilbao and has no plans to leave this club this summer.

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez has ruled out a move away from San Mames this summer.

The 23-year-old is reportedly being chased by a number of clubs, including Manchester City and Barcelona, after impressing for Los Leones over the last couple of seasons.

However, Martinez has now declared that he is happy at Bilbao and has no plans to leave.

"I do not see myself playing for Barcelona, I'm very happy at Athletic and I have a contract until 2016," he told Marca. "I have seen what's in the newspaper and what it says on TV, but it is not always right.

"If we were to believe what is said then I would already have played in seven different teams. Each week it's a different one."

The Spanish international, who joined Bilbao from his hometown club Osasuna, expressed his intention to resign for his former club at the end of his career.

"I would like to end my career at Osasuna for one or two years," he added.

Martinez has made eight senior appearances for his country.
