Man City 'quoted cut-price deal for Koulibaly'

Manchester City are reportedly in a position to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in a deal worth £65m.

While the centre-back is regarded as a key man at the Serie A outfit, speculation persists regarding an eventual switch to the Premier League.

Although City have previously been linked with a £72m bid for the Senegal international, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that he has no intention of allowing the player leave for a cut-price fee.

However, according to The Mirror, City officials have been informed that £65m may be enough to bring the 29-year-old to the Etihad Stadium.

Having witnessed his side lose the top-flight crown to Liverpool, Pep Guardiola is prioritising a high-profile addition to his backline.

City are believed to be ahead of the Merseyside giants in the race for Koulibaly's signature.
