James McAtee 'rejected Manchester City loan exit'

Manchester City prospect James McAtee reportedly rejected multiple opportunities to go out on loan during the January transfer window.

While City are keen to agree terms over a new contract, the academy graduate having just 17 months remaining on his existing deal has made him an attractive option for other clubs.

A wide range of Premier League clubs, including Leicester City, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion, have allegedly been showing an interest in a permanent deal.

The Daily Mail also suggests that further teams eyed a loan agreement in January, the likes of Rangers and Bournemouth being joined by sides in Spain, Holland and Belgium.

However, the report claims that the 19-year-old was satisfied to remain at the Etihad Stadium at a time when City will attempt to negotiate longer terms.

McAtee has been provided with just three substitute appearances this season, his solitary Premier League outing coming against Everton on November 21.
