Christian Eriksen: 'I turned down Manchester City'

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen has claimed that he turned down the opportunity to join Manchester City during the summer.

The 19-year-old believes that a move to one of Europe's elite clubs would leave him struggling to find regular football.

"My agent told me about interest from Manchester City, but it is nothing I thought about," he told Sky Sports News.

"There is no point moving to a club where I will sit on the bench. If I moved to City there would be a big risk."

Eriksen was recently named Danish Player of the Year.
