Manchester City 'closing in on Spain youth international Jose Maria Amo'

Manchester City are reportedly attempting to sign Spanish youth international Jose Maria Amo to a professional contract.

Manchester City are looking to sign Sevilla youth defender Jose Maria Amo, according to reports.

The Spaniard has represented his nation at Under-17 level and is considered as one of the most promising teenagers in Spanish football.

City have reportedly been watching his progress since last year and according to The Mirror, the Premier League club will look to sign the player to a professional contract as soon as possible.

However, his current club Sevilla have already opened contract talks with the player's representatives in a bid to fend off interest from abroad.

The 17-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for Sevilla but some have described the youngster to be the next Sergio Ramos.
