Frederic Veseli has described his transfer to Manchester United from Manchester City as an honour.
The 19-year-old defender completed the move on Tuesday after spending three years playing for City's academy.
Veseli told United's website: "I am very happy and it is an honour to sign for Manchester United.
"I am very thankful to Sir Alex Ferguson for bringing me to such a great club. Manchester United has a long history of younger players coming through and hopefully I can follow and do the same."
Veseli captained the Swiss Under-17s side to a World Cup victory in 2009.
