Cesare Prandelli says that Mario Balotelli must always keep his focus on doing well both for Italy and for Manchester City.

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has urged Mario Balotelli not to be "a superhero" and insists that the striker should focus on improving his game on the pitch.

The 22-year-old has struggled to play regularly for Manchester City this season and has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

"Balotelli has always behaved very well with us on international duty," Prandelli told RaiUno programme 5 di recupero.

"He must always focus on proving his value on the field, without being a 'superhero' or Mario the 'character' off it, and we tacticians have to find the best way to get that talent out of him."

Balotelli has scored one goal in 14 Premier League appearances for City this season.
