Roberto Mancini claims that Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany could make a return from injury for the side's trip to Stoke City on Saturday.

Manchester City could welcome back their captain Vincent Kompany for the North West side's Premier League match against Stoke City on Saturday.

The Belgium international has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury during City's 1-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on March 8.

The news will come as a boost for the Premier League outfit, but manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that Joleon Lescott is unlikely to feature at the weekend.

"Joleon I don't think but for Vinnie maybe he has some chance," said Mancini.

City managed to clinch a late victory over Chelsea last night, keeping pressure on local rivals Manchester United, who sit one-point clear at the top of the table.
