Barcelona still cannot register new arrival Ferran Torres with La Liga despite Philippe Coutinho's loan exit to Aston Villa, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly still not managed to register new arrival Ferran Torres with La Liga despite Philippe Coutinho's loan exit to Aston Villa.

Torres officially joined the Catalan giants from Manchester City at the start of January but still cannot play for the club, having not yet been registered.

There were claims that Coutinho's move to Villa could free up enough wages to allow Xavi's side to confirm Torres's spot in their first-team squad.

However, according to Marca, Barcelona still need to move more players on before Torres can make his debut for the Catalan club.

The Spain international is still recovering from a foot injury that he picked up during his time at Man City, while he also recently tested positive for COVID-19.

On-loan forwards Luuk de Jong and Yusuf Demir, in addition to Samuel Umtiti, are said to be among those who could leave the Catalan club before the end of the January transfer window.
