Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola will be able to call upon almost his entire Manchester City squad for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich on Tuesday at the Etihad.

Phil Foden remains the only absentee for City after he underwent surgery to have his appendix removed during the international break, but his return should not be too far away.

Erling Haaland returned to full fitness to feature against Southampton after missing their 4-1 win over Liverpool a week earlier, and the Norwegian netted twice to seal another 4-1 success for the champions.

Those two goals took his Premier League tally to 30 for the season already, the most he has ever netted in a league season still with nine games left to play.

His 30 league goals and 44 across all competitions have broken club records as the most any player has got for Man City in a single season, and it is almost guaranteed he will add to those tallies as long as he remains fit.

His Champions League record has been sensational too, after becoming just the third player to score five in a single UCL encounter, joining Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano in doing so, and he now has 33 goals in 25 appearances in the competition.

Kevin De Bruyne could be pivotal for City here, and he also reached a milestone of his own, recording his 100th Premier League assist at the weekend, doing so in the fastest time, needing 56 games fewer than Cesc Fabregas to reach the century mark.

A shift in shape from Guardiola has seen City play with a 3-6-1 over the past few weeks, as John Stones has been the man put in holding midfield alongside Rodri, and Stones has flourished against both Liverpool and Southampton.

Stones's form will only drop Kalvin Phillips further down the pecking order at City as he has made as many starts for England as he has for his club in the last three months.

The back three is picking itself at the moment, as City have looked much more competent at the back with Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake starting.

That means there will likely be no room for Aymeric Laporte again who has not played a single minute of Premier League or Champions League football since City's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in mid-February.

Full-back trio Kyle Walker, Rico Lewis and Sergio Gomez have also found minutes hard to come by since the change in shape, with Guardiola admitting this week that Walker has not got the capabilities to play as an inverted full-back, a role the Spaniard prefers to implement in his teams.

The only tactical switch could see Bernardo Silva come in on the right of the midfield to replace Riyad Mahrez.

Silva played in both legs against RB Leipzig in the last round, but he has only started one of City's last five domestic matches.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Akanji, Ruben Dias, Ake; Stones, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish; Haaland
