Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Gimenez has been ruled out of his side's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Manchester City due to injury.
The 27-year-old turned out for 86 minutes of the weekend's victory over Alaves but left the field in the final few moments owing to discomfort, with Felipe seeing out the game.
Gimenez appeared to have sustained a muscular issue in Saturday's victory, and the Uruguay international will not be making the journey to Manchester for the first leg on Tuesday.
Gimenez does not feature on Atletico's squad list for the opening game of the tie, while Hector Herrera is also absent due to a hamstring issue of his own.

Diego Simeone's side have also welcomed Koke and Angel Correa back from domestic suspensions for Tuesday's game, and Gimenez's absence should see Stefan Savic start against his former club.
Gimenez has made 29 appearances for Atletico in all tournaments this season and played the full 90 in both legs of his side's last-16 victory over Manchester United.
