Oleksandr Iakovenko hoping to contribute

Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Iakovenko is officially presented as a Malaga player after joining on loan from Fiorentina.

Oleksandr Iakovenko has revealed his delight after joining Malaga on loan from Fiorentina until the end of the season.

The Ukrainian forward has struggled for first-team football in Serie A this season, but is confident that he can contribute in La Liga.

"I'm ready to play and I want to help Malaga reach as high as possible," he told reporters at a press conference.

"I'm an attacking player, I can play on the left or right flanks, or as a striker. The first days here have been really good and everyone has been very friendly.

I'm looking forward to my first training sessions. I want to play, help the team to win and get as high up the league table as we can. I feel really good here and ready to play."

It is not yet clear whether the deal involves the opportunity to make the move permanent.
