Preview: Ludogorets Razgrad vs. Basel

Ludogorets vs. Basel

Basel will be hoping that they can remain in contention for a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League with a victory over Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday evening.

Paulo Sousa's side head into the match off the back of a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Liverpool at St Jakob-Park.

Marco Streller's strike in the second half was enough to move the Swiss side into second place ahead of the Reds in Group B.

Sousa has no fresh injury concerns and he is expected to name the same XI that beat the Premier League outfit.

Despite losing their opening two matches to Liverpool and defending champions Real Madrid, Ludogorets have earned praise for their performances in the competition.

The Bulgarian outfit shocked Real by taking a seventh-minute lead against their more illustrious opponents two weeks ago, before Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema secured a 2-1 victory for the Spanish side.

Ludogorets will be looking for revenge against Wednesday's opponents, after Basel knocked them out of last season's Champions League qualification playoffs 6-2 on aggregate.

Georgi Dermendzhiev could name an unchanged side from the match against Real, although Anicet Andrianantenaina is in contention for a starting place.
