Egypt's FA chief claims that Mohamed Salah is expected to miss their opening World Cup fixture against Uruguay, but will be "100% ready" for the game against Russia.

The president of the Egyptian Football Association has revealed that he expects Mohamed Salah to sit out Egypt's opening World Cup match against Uruguay.

Salah dislocated his shoulder in club side Liverpool's 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last weekend and was initially a major doubt for the competition.

Those injury fears have been allayed somewhat in the past few days, however, and the Premier League's top scorer is in line to play a full part in the Pharaohs' group matches against Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones tweeted: "EFA President Hany Abo Rida says [Salah] is likely to miss Egypt's opener against Uruguay. But will be 100% for Russia game."

Stoke City's Ramadan Sobhi is likely to fill in for Salah against Uruguay on June 15.
