Report: Liverpool target Micah Richards

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

The 25-year-old has been at the Blues for his entire career, but recently rejected the offer of a new five-year contract.

According to the Daily Mail, Brendan Rodgers is keen on completing a deal for the England international due to his ability to play at right-back and in central defence.

His current contract is due to expire at the end of the next season and City are believed to be holding out for a transfer fee in the region of £8m.

Richards has only made two appearances in the Premier League this season due to a succession of injuries.
