Naby Keita to hold off contract talks until January?

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita will reportedly wait until January to discuss a new contract.

Since arriving in 2018, Keita has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 117 appearances, but he has found it difficult to nail down a starting place.

Keita's time on Merseyside has been affected by injury, which has been highlighted by the fact that a hamstring problem has prevented him from appearing for the club since the Community Shield victory over Manchester City.

Despite struggling with injury issues, a recent report suggested that Keita wanted assurances of regular first-team football before agreeing a new contract.

Although his current deal is set to expire next summer, according to Christian Falk, Keita will not enter into discussions about a new contract until January.

With Keita's Liverpool future appearing to be uncertain, Borussia Dortmund are believed to be interested in signing the Guinea international on a free transfer next summer.

The 27-year-old has previous experience of playing in the Bundesliga, having registered 14 goals and 13 assists in 58 league appearances for RB Leipzig.
