Liverpool recall on-loan Jonjo Shelvey

Liverpool have recalled midfielder Jonjo Shelvey from his loan spell at Blackpool.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has brought the 19-year-old back to Anfield after Lucas Leiva sustained a knee injury in Tuesday's Carling Cup win over Chelsea.

The Reds signed the England Under-21 international from Charlton Athletic in April 2010 for a fee of around £1.7m.

Shelvey had scored six goals in ten appearances for Blackpool in the Championship this season.
