Liverpool transfer news: Reds 'enquire' over availability of Real Madrid attacker

Liverpool 'enquire' over availability of Real Madrid attacker

Liverpool have reportedly enquired about the availability of Real Madrid attacker Endrick as they continue their search for greater depth and quality in the forward areas.

Andoni Iraola has made no secret of his desire to strengthen the wide positions, with the Liverpool boss hopeful that the club can bring in more than one attacking reinforcement before the transfer window closes.

The Reds have been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, but despite the persistent speculation, neither deal has yet come to fruition.

Liverpool also reportedly saw a £50m offer for Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Yankuba Minteh rejected, adding another layer of frustration to what has become an increasingly complicated pursuit of attacking reinforcements.

The 20-time English champions have already spent £34.5m to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but Iraola remains keen for further additions, particularly in the attacking wide areas.

Liverpool eye move for Endrick?

According to The Times, Liverpool have made an enquiry about Endrick's availability, with the Real Madrid forward having spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon.

Aston Villa have also been linked with the 20-year-old, although Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to retain him beyond the end of the summer window.

Real Madrid's signing of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig could potentially complicate Endrick's path to regular minutes, but for now, a departure from the Spanish giants appears unlikely.

Liverpool need to make bold transfer decisions

After seeing their opening bid for Minteh swiftly knocked back, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool are prepared to return with an improved offer for the 22-year-old winger.

Minteh missed around two months after undergoing surgery on a leg injury suffered during Brighton's pre-season victory over Roma, but the attacker is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield.

What may frustrate Liverpool supporters most, however, is the continued stalemate over Barcola, with the PSG winger remaining the club's priority target despite a significant gap in the two clubs' respective valuations.

PSG are believed to value Barcola at around £145m, a figure Liverpool have so far shown little willingness to match.

The longer the impasse drags on, the greater the risk becomes, because Liverpool cannot afford to let their entire summer strategy hinge on one deal before scrambling for alternatives in the final hours of the window.

If Barcola is truly the player Iraola wants, the Reds may soon have to make a bold decision: either meet PSG somewhere closer to their demands or decisively move on and secure another target before time runs out.
