Phillipe Coutinho agent responds to Barcelona, Real Madrid rumours

Philippe Coutinho's agent says that the Liverpool star has no plans on leaving the Reds, amid speculation linking him with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The agent of Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has stated that his client is "extremely happy" at Anfield, despite speculation linking him with moves to Barcelona and Real Madrid.

His representative Kia Joorabchian is reported to have opened talks with the Blancos, while Barca - who have since played down their interest - are also said to be fans of the Brazilian.

Nevertheless, Joorabchian says that the 23-year-old - whose contract expires in 2020 - is firmly focused on success with the Reds.

"Philippe is extremely happy at Liverpool. He signed a new long term contract towards the end of last season that represents his ambition and his feeling for Liverpool," he told reporters.

"Reports that I have been talking to Real Madrid about Philippe are not true.

"His aspirations are to qualify for the Champions League with Liverpool this season and to win a trophy. That is all that he is focused on – and nothing else."

The ex-Inter Milan starlet pulled out of Brazil's upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers with an unspecified injury.
