The biennial transfer scramble is upon us once again, as deadline day has arrived for clubs in England and Scotland, who have until 7pm tonight - or 9pm if the relevant deal sheets are submitted - to bring in further reinforcements or offload deadwood.

Some sides will have already closed their chequebook for the summer, satisfied with their recent transactions, whereas others will be working around the clock to bolster their ranks or find new stomping grounds for their unwanted outcasts.

Ahead of a potentially record-breaking deadline day, Sports Mole looks at the biggest deals that could still happen in the coming hours.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle United to Liverpool)

The saga of the summer is finally nearing its inevitable conclusion, as Liverpool are understood to have agreed an unprecedented £125m deal to sign Newcastle United and Sweden marksman Alexander Isak.

The 25-year-old will become the most expensive signing in the history of the Premier League, having seen his increasingly desperate attempts to force a move through belatedly pay off.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace to Liverpool)
